Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take my course Pass/Fail?

At Babson: Pass/Fail is not an option at Babson College.

If a Babson student wants to take an Olin/Wellesley Course pass/fail they need to follow their policy in declaring that and it will be reflected on the Babson Transcript.

At Olin: Olin courses can be taken as pass/no credit but it is up to the home institution if they will allow this grading option.

At Wellesley: Wellesley courses can be taken credit/non.  Credit (CR) requires a grade of C or better.

How do I declare Pass/Fail or Pass/No Credit?

At Olin College: The student must fill out this form, have it signed by the faculty member, and bring it to the Registrar’s Office, Campus Center 320.

At Wellesley: Students need to contact the Wellesley Registrar's Office at registrar@wellesley.edu by the credit/non deadline to make this grading change.

What courses are NOT available for cross-registration?

At Babson: Students cross registering at Babson cannot register for FME1000/FME1001.

At Olin: Courses are eligible for cross-registration with the permission of the Olin faculty member.

At Wellesley: Wellesley 100-level courses aren't available for cross-registration during the fall semester until the first day of the semester.

How do I obtain permission for a course?

At Babson:If student needs to get a prerequisite waiver from a professor they must contact the professor to get this waiver and then forward the professors approval off to registrar@babson.edu.

At Olin: Email the Olin faculty member directly for permission.

At Wellesley: If a course is full or requires instructor consent, you can contact the professor directly.

What happens if I cross-register in my final semester before commencement?

At Babson: Seniors in their last semester are strongly discouraged from cross-registering in their final semester. If the student does want to cross-register, s/he needs to be aware that the grading deadlines at the host college may not line up with the Babson grading deadline. If the Babson Registrar’s Office does not receive the grade for the course the student cross-registered for by 4:30 PM the Tuesday before commencement then the student's name will show in the Commencement Program with the May graduates, but honors will not be designated and a diploma will not be given at the ceremony. The student will receive a diploma upon completion of all degree requirements, will be ranked with all graduates once all grades are received, and will be awarded honors if applicable.

At Olin: You risk not being able to get your diploma. Grading deadlines vary across the campuses and we cannot guarantee that your grade will be available before your ceremony.

At Wellesley: You risk not being able to graduate on time. Grading deadlines vary across the campuses and we cannot guarantee that your grade will be available before your ceremony.
