BOW Student Opportunity:

OBJECTIVE: The objective of the program is to provide financial support for projects undertaken by students and faculty at Olin College of Engineering that will benefit senior citizens as well as provide a meaningful learning experience for Olin students. The Fund will support innovative projects that directly and indirectly contribute to the expanded potential of people 65 and better. The Fund seeks projects that enhance the experiences of and/or opportunities provided to senior citizens, especially creative projects related to any of the “Eight dimensions of wellness”: Emotional, Environmental, Cultural, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. (See attachment for a list of past awards.)

ELIGIBILITY: Potential project ideas may be developed by Olin, Babson, or Wellesley students, Olin faculty members, and/or North Hill residents or staff, but all grant applications must be submitted and sponsored by one or more Olin College faculty members on long-term contracts. Students must have a faculty sponsor. Babson and Wellesley students who are looking for an Olin faculty sponsor, please contact Professor Caitrin Lynch at Olin College (clynch@olin.edu).

Requests may be made for funding up to $2500. The Dean of Faculty reserves the right to deny all applicants in any given year. Budget items that are eligible for support include student and faculty stipends, equipment and supplies, and travel/conference registration.
